E3 2023: In-person Gaming Expo date and details
After a three-year hiatus, E3 returns in 2023 to the Los Angeles Convention Center for a four-day in-person gaming expo.
A recent announcement from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) confirmed the location and dates of the E3 Games Fair 2023. That return has been a long time coming after the pandemic made it move to an all-digital platform. The event is finally happening as an in-person game expo next year.
The majority of E3 will be supervised by ReedPop. It’s the same event production company that gave us New York Comic Con, star wars Celebration and other events. They also belong to ESA. This is the first time that the event production company has organized E3.

All E3 2023 event will take place over four days, from June 13 to 16, 2023. However, E3 will also support “partnership digital events” starting on June 11. These events will be accessible to attendees throughout the event.
Of June 13 to 15the participants of E3 2023 will live the E3 Business Days. According to the show’s producer, this portion of the event is “exclusively for registered industry personnel to network in person, host professional meetings, and connect with licensors and distributors.”
June 15 and 16 will score E3 2023 E3 Player Days. The showrunners anticipate that this part of the event will take place in “a different room than the industry”, since the target market for the event is the consumer. They’re also looking to immerse attendees in the future of the game through hands-on experience and by communicating with the game’s developers. They’re also expecting a cast of content creators and celebrities who can help spread the word about the event. The plan is to show most of this year’s highly anticipated games in a theater dedicated to ticket holders.

“E3 is one of the rare opportunities for the global gaming industry to come together, unite as one strong voice, and show the world what it’s creating. Our vision is to to bring the industry together by bringing back the traditional E3 week, to bring back that spark and restore E3’s role as a truly magical global event for game creators and consumers alike.
Kyle Marsden-Kish, ReedPop Vice President for Games
There was a mixed reception from E3 since it was decided to define it as a virtual event in 2021, at the height of the pandemic. Most attendees complained about the lack of real content from the start of the event until the end, especially for the gaming community. This was then followed by the cancellation of the E3 2022. The cancellation of the event was announced in April this year. This was decided after the previous receipt of the E3 2021.
The cancellation of E3 2022 seems to mirror what happened to E3 2020 when the pandemic interrupted most scheduled events. However, delving into the history of E3, the 2019 event was a resounding success. This was later clouded by a controversy involving participants’ personal information being publicly available to anyone on the official ESA website.
“We will devote all of our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer. Whether enjoyed from the show floor or on your favorite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring together community, media and industry in an all-new format and interactive experience. “
“We look forward to bringing E3 to fans around the world live from Los Angeles in 2023.”
