Games, magic and music to celebrate the Jubilee in Clacton

GAMES, magic and music will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Clacton.

Mad About Theater Company and Community Voluntary Services Tendring are working together to host the event at West Greensward on Saturday 4th June.

Held between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., the 1953-themed Platina Plaza event will feature a theater marquee with live comparison performances by magician and entertainer Christopher Frost.

There will also be performances by JA Performance Art, local magician Tony Malloy and a drum workshop.

Booths hosting games will raise money for charity and The Mad Soul Food Tea Tent will raise money for their food project.

Indi Allen, event organizer, said: “The celebration will be in the spirit of a platinum event, showcasing community strength, sustainability and unity.

“It will be 1950s themed and we hope the vendors will dress up for the occasion.

“There will be a marquee and a stage to create a 150-seat mini-theatre.

“And some classic vehicles to add to the theme.”

She added: “The event gives many charities and community organizations a showcase for their work.

“It will bring together volunteers of all ages to create a community day.

“The theater company presents this day as a family day to enjoy the seaside and participate in traditional games and entertainment.”

CVST will have a booth as well as a safety booth offering advice and information, including sun safety and sea safety.

Chief Officer Sharon Alexander said: “We are really looking forward to what should be an incredible event to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.”
