“I really like the way the script presents the struggle of an ordinary man”

Versatile Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who is gearing up for the release of his OTT movie “Ardh,” talks about what attracted him to the project.

He says: “Ardh shows the relationship of a husband and wife and their daily struggle to live a normal life. Also how Shiva, an ordinary man tries all possible means to achieve his dream and in doing so how life takes him through various challenges. I really like how the script presents the struggle of an ordinary man. I really feel that just like my character, there are many people like Shiva in our country who fight for their dreams and live day to day.”

Also starring Rubina Dilaik, Hiten Tejwani and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, “Ardh” was written and directed by Palash Muchhal. The film portrays Rajpal Yadav in an avatar never seen before.

As seen in the trailer, “Ardh” shows how a small town guy, Shiva (Rajpal Yadav) struggles to become an actor in the city of dreams, Mumbai, despite being a big stage actor. Now, to survive in the city and earn his bread and butter, he poses as transgender (Parvati) with the support of his wife (Rubina Dilaik) and searches for money on local trains and at signals in Mumbai. It is the story of a dreamer in the city of dreams and continues to explore if he manages to achieve his dreams, or if his dreams are crushed in this hectic and unforgiving city of Mumbai.

‘Ardh’ will air on ZEE5 from June 10.
