Keith Rice of Hollyoaks appearing in a play after the soap was released

Ancient Hollyoaks star Keith Rice will appear in a new play after his soap opera exit.

Keith, who played Finn O’Connor on the Channel 4 show, stars in Spine – a theatrical production that focuses on three young footballers as they pursue higher career goals.

The game centers on Keith’s Liam, Kyle (Tristan Waterson) and Hakeem (Malachi Pullar-Latchman) trying to make their way to the Premier League after spending their teenage years as the backbone of their football team.

But as they are set to join the nation’s top football league, their friendship will be tested when they face years of institutional racism and toxic masculinity.

Will the boys be able to keep their friendship or will they sacrifice everything to reach the top of the league?

Explaining the concept for the play, director and screenwriter Nathan Powell said (via Newham recorder): “Behind the glitz and glamor of the beautiful game are young boys, growing up in the academy system and trying to figure out their place in the world.

Keith’s final scenes as Finn aired in December when he agreed to leave Hollyoaks for good after Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann) and Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace) plan to get rid of him. .

Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7 p.m.
