Kenneth (Kenny) Finkle’s plays have been produced across the country, including Safe and sound, which premiered at the Old Globe and Interior Exterior, who played Off-Bway and had over 50 productions around the world. His adaptation of The Dark Forest touring all over China in 2019/20. He has received commissions from the Dallas Theater Center, Ford’s Theater, Virginia Stage Company, Theaterworks USA, Hangar Theater, among others, and is a recipient of scholarships and grants from NYFA and NYSCA and most recently , a NEA New Play Development Award through the Keen SociÃ©tÃ©. Her non-traditional theatrical work includes her musical graphic novel for an intimate audience UR ??, which was developed and produced at the American Repertory Theater, The Orchard Project and Ars Nova. His audio opus in 8 parts 1993 was released in fall 2020 by the Keen Company as part of their Hear / Now season. His plays are published by Broadway Play Publishing, Samuel French and Smith and Krauss.
Kenny received his MFA from the Drama Writing program at Columbia University and his BFA from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Prior to his appointment, he was an assistant theater instructor at MMC for seven years. In addition, he worked as a teaching artist for the DreamYard Project for two decades and served as a Master Playwright for the Miami Dade Playwright Development Program for two terms.
