Lyric Hammersmith Theater Open call for script submissions

The Lyric Hammersmith Theater today announced a new open call for script submissions.

Nicholai La Barrie, Associate Director of the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, said: “The Lyric is opening doors for writers with our new script submission system. Theater should be a place to see yourself reflected, challenged, and entertained, and there’s a lot we want to hear. of different voices and engaging with lots of different stories, especially from writers who might have been overlooked or missed before. We are excited to introduce this open call process for Lyric and create new bridges and opportunities for writers. We want to connect with, develop and support new stories and voices, so if you have a story to tell, be it brave, bold, heartfelt, heartbreaking, we want to hear from you.”

Submissions are open to writers at all stages of their career who currently live in the UK. The Lyric particularly encourages writers who live and work in West London and among those currently underrepresented in the UK theater industry, including people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, who are d/Deaf or disabled, who are non-binary, LGBTQIA+, who have caring responsibilities.

The script submission window is now open and will close on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. All scripts will be read by Lyric’s art team.

Scripts should be sent to [email protected] Full submission guidelines can be found online at https://lyric.co.uk/our-home/about-us/lyric-script-submissions/.
