Mandy Moore threw up after reading the script for the penultimate episode of ‘This Is Us’.
The 38-year-old singer and actress has played Rebecca Pearson on the NBC drama since the series premiered in 2016, and as she prepares to say goodbye to her character and the show, Mandy has warned fans they might need to book a day off. for after the penultimate episode.
She said: “I’ll tell you the penultimate episode, which airs in about a week, I threw up after reading it.
“And maybe that’s just because it’s really close to the bone for me. Like, it’s been my life for six years…I have to simultaneously say goodbye to the character, to my family and to my friends on set, and that the character is also saying goodbye by coincidence, so there’s a lot at stake.
“But I still think, like, you might need a day off.”
However, Mandy admitted that there was no nausea when reading the script for the last episode.
Speaking on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, she added: “But the finale is a bit more of a hug. I think there’s a bit more levity to it. Yeah, the penultimate me destroyed. I have a feeling it could also destroy people.”
Last month, Mandy admitted she wanted to redo her ‘This Is Us’ scenes after becoming a real mom, after welcoming her first child, Gus, with husband Taylor Goldsmith in February 2021.
She said: “It all makes sense now. I want to go back and do it all again.
“I just feel the interaction I have with the kids now… I’ve always felt the maternal instinct in me, but now it’s completely solidified.
“Just like the little things of someone saying, ‘I need water’, ‘I’m hungry’ or ‘I have to go’ [to] The bathroom.’ Like, ‘Guys, guys, guys. No, that comes first. This is the priority. Whereas before – obviously I would have cared about the needs of the kids – but that’s taking it to the next level.”
