The 36th Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games make their highly anticipated return to Aye-Tasca in June | 06/17/2022
Scotland returns to Aye-Tasca!After more than two years of virtual events, the Chicago Scotsman are delighted to officially bring back the biggest Scottish event in the Midwest, the 36e Annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games. This two-day outdoor festival is set to arrive at Hamilton Lakes, 1 Pierce Place, Itasca, IL, on Friday June 17 and Saturday June 18. The treasured summer kick-off celebration will bring back all the crowd favourites, from the iconic caber toss to Highland dancers, from bagpipe competitions to the Dogs of Scotland and the British Car Show, and everything in between. Whether Scottish by birth, heritage or strictly by inclination, this family festival is not to be missed. Plus, kids under 12 are free this year! All proceeds will go to the Chicago Scots, one of the largest Scottish cultural organizations in the world and the oldest 501(c)3 charity in Illinois, and their primary charity, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care in North Riverside. For the past 36 years, this festival has attracted up to 15,000 attendees each year to experience Scotland’s rich culture and unique heritage. This annual gathering has featured all levels of pipe and drum competitions and has in recent years been the largest pipe band competition in North America. and much more. The festival kicks off Friday, June 17 at 1 p.m. and features national and international heavyweight athletics champions, as well as dance competitions, whiskey tastings, children’s activities, Celtic music and more.
The festivities continue Saturday June 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Guests will be able to take part in the various popular games and the entertainment on the Celtic Rock stage this year will be full of energy. After the official closing ceremony of the competitions and the performances of the traditional bands, guests can stay and enjoy music, beer, whiskey and other refreshments into the night.

Friday: Early Bird (ends March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $16.00; Seniors (60+) and active military cost $12.00
Saturday: Early Bird (ends March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $24.00; Seniors (60+) and active military cost $20.00
Two-Day Pass: Early Bird (until March 20) – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $36.00; Seniors (60+) and active military are $28.00
Friday- Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $20.00; Seniors (60+) and active military are $15.00
Saturday– Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $30.00; Seniors (60+) and active military are $25.00
Two day pass – Children 12 and under are FREE; Adults are $45.00; Seniors (60+) and active military are $35.00
Patron Weekend Pass (21+)– $160 includes admission to the festival on both days, premium parking, complimentary food and beverage service at the patron’s tent, special whiskey tastings and a meet and greet with the athletes.
Customer weekend pass (family pack of four)– $360 includes admission for two adults and two children (12 and under) for both days, prime parking, complimentary meals and drinks at the patron’s tent, special whiskey tastings and meet and greet with the athletes.
The festival takes place in Hamilton Lakes, Itasca, Illinois, located at I-290 and Thorndale Avenue.
