The University of North Dakota Department of Theater Arts will present “Carrie: The Musical,” based on “Carrie,” the popular and cult 1976 horror film, November 10-12 and November 17-19. at 7:30 p.m. in the Burtness Theatre.

In this musical rendition of “Carrie,” the story is told through the lens of high school student Sue Snell, who witnesses Carrie’s iconic massacre on prom night. As she describes the moments that led to the destruction of the school to the upper echelon of school authorities, the students appear as if they are memories and the story unfolds.

A variety of students are featured including Sue, her boyfriend Tommy, her best friend Chris and her boyfriend Billy who plot the ultimate humiliation of socially stunted Carrie White. They don’t know much, besides being religiously traumatized by her overbearing mother, Carrie is gifted with telekinesis. Horror fans rejoice: “Carrie” is a wild, rock n’ roll ride of good versus evil, and bloody, devastating revenge.
